  1. In Topic: Just bought a Sega Saturn, what games to buy now?

The Saturn spits out several types of video. I think an S-Video cable was made. IIRC it has RGB outputs in the socket, but no cable was made. Your best bet, comparing cost to quality, would be composite video, IMO.

    Games:
Virtual On. This is the mechwarrior/fighting arcade game. Get the NetLink version if you can
Sega Rally Plus. It uses the analog triggers on the 3D pad, the non plus version does not.
Gex, a rather hilarious platform game.
Virtua Cop 1 and 2. The Stunner and Virtua gun are good, but the Nyko Super Cobra trumps them both. And it'll work with your PS1 as well, even on Time Crisis.
Shining the Holy Ark. This is a console style, turn based RPG.
Enemy Zero. This is a survival horror game.
NiGHTS into Dreams. I don't really know how to describe this game, except that it's good.
Christmas NiGHTS. Really, this is more of an add-on to NiGHTS, but still worth the price it commands.
Tempest 2000. A modern remake of the arcade classic.
Worldwide Soccer: Victory Goal Edition. This football game has a good arcade feel and a fast pace to it.

    Hardware:
Stunner or Virtua Gun. They are the exact same gun, just in different colors.
Super Cobra. Works with all Saturn and PS1 light gun games, even those that use the GunCon. Requires the composite video output from the Saturn, just like it does the PS1.
3D pad. This was packed in with NiGHTS. It has an analog thumbstick and fully analog triggers.
Twin Stick. A must-have for Virtual On. If you don't get Virtual On, you probably won't need this, even though it works with many other games.
Arcade Racer. Stay away from this expensive pile of junk. Seriously--I think it sucks.
  2. In Topic: difficult carts on your sixer? This might help

The dust cover on my Sears H6 is actually stuck open. Beats me as to why, but as long as it works and the console still looks classy, I'm OK with it.

    I have about 5 :(

I did have about 15, which were lost in house moves. My 2600 burnt out from playing chopper command constantly. So I am currently 2600-less. Keep watching on Ebay for one in the box... but I keep wrestling with the idea of how much I want to pay (obviously as little as possible).

I will have one in the next few weeks for certain. I have also been looking out for games... though Ill be investing in the Harmony cart very soon.

lol, this, folks, is what the 2600 is all about. Playing until your thumb is sore, playing until your eyes fall out, then playing until the console is completely and totally dead. I think the rest of us may have missed something somewhere. :ponder:

I've got not room to talk though. If my house were to tip over, they'd never find either me or my wife buried under all the VCS games.

To heck with karma. I hope you get well soon, Sean.

Oh geez, I didn't know he was that sick! That explains why he's not online. :o
