The Stickler... sucks.....
Sat Feb 4, 2012 9:39 AM
I have seen mention of The Stickler joystick addon for the Intellivision controllers. I ordered a pair for 5.99 plus shipping from Atari2600.com. They arrived yesterday and I installed them (very easy to do).
I tried playing several different games with them and found I prefer the regular discs. The joystick work, but I found that sometimes they get stuck or feel awkward. I couldn't finish even the first screen in Donkey Kong. I then swapped the control discs back in and immediately ran through the first four or five screens without losing a life!
Conclusion: I wasted $6 plus shipping. I guess those Intellivision controllers aren't so bad after all!

Your favorite overlay?

Of the standard overlays (ie. not aftermarket) what is your favorite overlay?
Some are rather drab while others are quite attractive. My personal fave is the Mission X overlay. The game is not all that special but the overlay has some nice artwork....

Overlay dimensions

Can anyone with a decent ruler measure an Inty overlay and tell me the width and height in either millimeters or inches..?
I have access to a color laser printer tomorrow morning and want to print off some overlays, but I don't have a ruler here in my house.

Well this sucks.

I decided to treat myself to an Intellivision as a self-present. I found one on the local Craigslist: a 2609 in what looked like excellent shape, and 9 boxed common games for $50.
The seller hadn't used it in years, but told me he put it in storage in working order, and said he would refund my money if it would not work.
i took it home, and all it does is put out a plain black screen, despite cleaning the cart. slot, several different carts, cable, etc.
I emailed the seller and he said he will refund my $50 next week.
Sigh...
