Building a secret gaming room...

Fri Apr 27, 2012 6:49 AM

It's in an old coal room, was going to keep it a secret from the Wife but everyone here saying how terrible I am was just too funny so I showed my Wife the responses. I'm still going to keep it a secret, she will forget over time, lol.
Basically the only entrance will be under the stairs via sliding bookcase (yup, just like the movies) Here is the start...

The future secret entrance area

Updates - 4/29
Finished the main exterior wall so it is semi-secret now

Started to get to work on sealing up the cracks in the walls and insulating everything. The room has always been cold and although our house is pretty bug free, any spiders getting in are doing it through this room so going to have to fix that ;)

Update 5/4
Put some sheets of plywood over the insulation and decided to go with some nice "naughty" pine for the interior

The floor is next and it looks like absolute hell. As much as I want to just slap a piece of carpet over it and call it a day I better do it right....

update 5/5
Made a CNC routed composite aluminium pipe cover for the ugly water pipe and started on the ceiling. I am also planning on cutting some high polished aluminium "mirror finished" space invaders to go over the bronze planks I am putting up there now, guess we will see how it turns out :)

Update 5/8 - still a ton of work to do but I have the interior far enough along to put some stuff in. Probably leave it like this for a little while, tired of spending every free moment working on it, lolAttached File  Atari 132.jpg   85.91K   43 downloadsAttached File  Atari 133.jpg   86.58K   50 downloadsAttached File  Atari 137.jpg   101.76K   52 downloadsAttached File  Atari 135.jpg   99.37K   47 downloadsAttached File  Atari 136.jpg   91.51K   31 downloads

Another run of CNC aluminium Space Invader wall sets...

Thu Apr 26, 2012 12:22 PM

Hello
Doing another run of CNC cut composite aluminium Space Invader wall sets if anyone is interested. These are pretty high quality material ($6 per square foot) but I get to use the scrap left over from jobs for personal projects. Price is $40 shipped anywhere in the US for the complete 25 piece set! I also like trades (sega, nes, 2600, 7800, INTV, coleco, etc..) Let me know if you have any questions, the only color I have available is bright metallic silver/pewter (shown in the majority of the pics) I attached some pics of other people who have purchased them below to better describe what they are. Thanks!! Attached File  invader 1.jpg   96.21K   36 downloads

Kind of dissapointed with super fighter team...

Wed Apr 11, 2012 8:21 AM

Nightmare Buster for the SNES...was pretty excited about this one. I knew it was pretty far from being released and Super Fighter team does not do pre orders but I figured I would check in and see how far along it was. Well, basically they DID take pre orders on it (for a little over a week) reached there cap of 600 copies and "might" make more of them after they ship the first 600 for those of us that were not checking the site every week. I guess in 2013 I will have to check the site every day so I don't miss the second run. I don't know, I have purchased every single SFT release, even Beggar Prince TWICE to get a non bug version...you think I would have got a heads up on this but I guess not...oh well, just my little rant....not mad, just dissapointed...Guess I will have to pay inflated Ebay prices, ugh...lame
