A guy on CL was selling a huge lot of Atari stuff (Mostly VCS) for $200. In that lot was a 7800 console (with cables, power supply, no controllers) a trackball and 2 7800 games (Centipede and Galaga.) I asked if he would sell me just the 7800 stuff. He said he'd sell just that stuff to me for $60. I managed to talk him down to $50 and he agreed.
I've noticed that Atari prices have gone up lately. Is $50 a good deal for this?

Interesting Find

So, I hit the flea market today. It's the first time this season and I wasn't finding anything older than NES stuff (which I don't collect.) Anyway, at that very last table, I saw this old Pong system hanging out of a box. I'd never seen or heard of the brand name before. It's a Roberts Sportrama 8 system. It has both joysticks, no A/C adapter. It will run on batteries and, most likely, a standard Atari wall wart (9v 500 amps according to the underside.)
This unit was in pretty rough shape. The tip of the Rf cord was cut off, it's dirty as heck and it was obviously subjected to many years of extreme heat because what was left of the Rf cord was melted into the plastic shell of the unit. Also, two of the game buttons are melted together. I offered $3 for it, given it's condition and he accepted. I figured, what the heck. Maybe, with a little luck, I can clean it up, replace the Rf cord and hope for the best. Worst case scenario, I'm out $3.
What really interested me was the fact that I'd never heard of it before and hoped I had found something really rare. Turns out, it's a relatively common system, worth no more than $20 in good working condition. Eh, we'll see...if nothing else, it will be fun to play around with. Opening it up and tinkering with it is worth $3 to me.

Ok, so my brother and I are trying to remember a game we used to play on the 800XL. I'm afraid I can't give too many details, but here's what we have:
This was a side-scrolling game and you flew through caves. The left side "wall" sort of chased you down. What made it hard was that sometimes you had to double back in some of the smaller caves, and if you weren't fast enough, the entrance got sealed off and you had to kill your self.
Any ideas? Again, I know it's not much to go on, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

2 Coleco Geminis for sale (1 English and 1 English/French)

Lot #1: 2 Gemini Video Game Systems (as stated in the subject line.)
IMG_0703.JPG 743.74K
21 downloads
Here's what's included:
1 Coleco Gemini Video Game System
1 Coleco Gemini International Edition Video game system (French/English.)
1 Coleco Gemini Manual (not pictured, but I have it. Once I find it, I'll add a pic of it.
2 Gemini controllers
2 Rf-->Coax adapters
2 A/V cables (not OEM, just whatever I can scare up.)
Both systems are fully tested and 100% functional. Both systems had the issue with the controller ports being flaky, but once I reflowed the solder, all controller ports are fully functional again. Both controllers work great! No A/C power supplies with this lot, sorry. I would like to sell it all as 1 lot, but I will consider splitting them up (buying 1 system will only get you 1 controller, 1 coax adapter and 1 A/V cable.) The manual is for the English only version.
$20 for each system, or buy the whole lot for $35. Buyer pays for actual shipping (UPS Ground.)
Item #2: Smurf: Rescue In Gargamel's Castle.

17 downloads
This is complete in the box. Everything is there. The box was open when I bought it, but everything is there. Cart looks brand new and instructions are perfect too. I did reseal the box, just to make sure everything stayed in good shape. Box is in excellent shape too.
$15. Buyer pays for actual shipping.
Think my prices are too high? PM me an offer. More goodies to come so keep checking back.

Cookie Monster Munch Mentioned on Big Bang Theory
Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:47 AM
During this past week's episode of "Big Bang Theory", Sheldon invited his new friends over for the evening. It was "Retro Games Thursday" and their choices were some ColecoVision game, Atari's "Cookie Monster Munch" and "Zork I." Why, of all games in the Atari library, would a grown man choose a Sesame Street game, is beyond me, but I thought the mention was still pretty cool!
