Now that I have some time to actively update the database, I'd like to update the 7800 screenshots. As many of you know, they were taken with an ancient version of MESS and the color palette was sub-par at the time. You can look through the screenshots here:

http://www.atariage.com/system_items.html?...peID=SCREENSHOT

Click on the title for each game to view the shots.

Taking screenshots is time consuming and unfortunately there is not a good emulator I can use in OS X to take screenshots. I could do so in VMware's Fusion, but that's a pain in the neck. Therefore, I'm soliciting help from the community in replacing these screenshots. Here are some guidelines:

1) Please use the current version of the ProSystem Emulator to take the shots, unless someone tells me that the current version of MESS has a better palette. You can download the ProSystem Emulator here:

https://home.comcast.net/~gscottstanton/

Make sure you you grab the updated palette for ProSystem here:

http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=128755

Once you're running ProSystem, you can take screenshots by pressing "Ctrl-C".

2) For any given game, please take a screenshot of the title screen and several gameplay shots. If a game has multiple and/or varied levels, please try to show a variety of them. Feel free to also take screenshots of intermediate screenshots, game over shots, and so forth.

3) Please post the shots in this thread and I'll update the database. I'm asking that you post them here so others can see what screenshots have already been taken and there's less duplication of effort.

4) DO NOT convert the screenshots to JPG format! Please also DO NOT CROP the screenshots. If you do either of these things, I will not use them. If you want to convert them to another format for some reason, please only save them as PNG files.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help. :D

Here's a few for Asteroids.

Mitch

I dont have any 7800 roms...funny sorta cuz I have just about everything else.

I was actually thinking the same thing...sorta. I have hardly any ROM files on my computer for the 7800, but I've got most of the games. I may dump a few to take screenshots of.

b*nQ screen shots. These show the more colors that were added to b*nQ which isn't on the existing non-game play screenshots. Also in the in game shots it shows the color in the "1" for player 1. And I found an obscure bug while playing. grrr.

  • 4 weeks later...
Since I've been playing Impossible Mission like mad recently I figured I may as well take a few screenshots. :D

Mitch

Man those are some ugly chosen colors of the finale sequence in IMPOSSIBLE MISSION. Given the 7800's palette, I wonder why they chose them? Does he animate like he does in the c64 version?

No, it is not animated just a static picture.

Here's a few for Scrapyard Dog.

Mitch

Great, thanks, will get these replaced shortly. :)

For scrapyard dog, it might be useful to add a link to the mapouts we did for the entire game a year or two ago. ;)

Drat, beaten to the punch. This is what I get for posting before reading the entire page. :)
