HSC8 Round 10: Up the Creek!

Recommended Posts

There should be a Kaboom! Hall Of Fame.

zylon kicked @ss at Kaboom! in the 2600, 5200, and 8 bit HSC's! :)

Thanks. No celebrating till it's over. ;) The paddle games were always my favorites and I always had an unholy knack at them. I've even been playing Clowns on C64 and rolled it again. :D

You can post the C64 scores for any games you have

Tables Updated

Would that apply to future rounds, or just this one? Most of these oddball titles you have a propensity for finding, I already have on my C64. :D

Back to business with a little SB Progressive. :)

Kaboom!-

Large paddles: 53,604

Small paddles: 4,468

Super Breakout-

Breakout: 1293

Yes, any rounds would be ok if you don't have the a8 versions of the games

I've never seen super smash - what does it do different :?: (will take a look on you tube) :)

Super Smash is a Super Breakout clone and has 3 modes, instead of 4. I can't remember the 3rd one now. :ponder:

If you think Kaboom is hard, try the game I learned on: "The Sky Is Falling" for my Vic. At least Kaboom has a pattern to follow, this game is completely random! Kaboom is a cakewalk compared to this one.

Sky is Falling- 7800

C= Clowns is more Circus Atari based but you can't flip the see-saw around :x

The Atarisoft titles are much different on C=, but third party games are just about the same.

no worries - Juggler should run ok if you use the fixed version here ;)

Nope :(

How far does it get ?

Extract/Save the ATR file first... does it boot at all?

Managed a couple of improvements (one you'll not be pleased to see ;) )

River Rat (Level 7) 338,900 [Lv1 57,050] & SB Double 1,371

It scrolls / jerks a programmed by message across the screen (Either really fast, or terribly slowly depending on whether or not I've got accurate fl. drive timing switched off or on) and that's far as it gets. It's no biggy - I'll be playing Crysis 2 most of the weekend so I won't have time to play it.

As for your R Rat score - pretty good. I'll post my reserve score on Monday. Is your idea of 10am BST REAL or Atari (if so I might have to get up early to ensure I have enough time to type it all in!)

Had another session on Wavy Navy - promoted to Captain! went for taking out the 'copters early and this seemed to pay off (after about 10 goes)... also had some success at Kaboom! really didn't think I could get any further but again about 10 goes and it started to click :)

Breakout Double: 1344 (yeah)

I'm on a vacation now, and playing these game is really a good activity here in "Zeeland" ... Especially that 1625 points on cavity was a nice start.

I've added in the average scores for justin case for the two games he's passing on and updated the tables with all the scores ... Marius has the email address. Zylon's currently on target for the bonus HSC point for the most wins with 3 but there are a couple of people on two games.

Checkout post 2 for bonus points and remember that your River Rat score decides any tied places. Please check your scores too! Think I am about done now so it's down to you guys to catch up before Tuesday morning ;)

Tables Updated

Vote for round 11 folks :!:

Unsporting of me to wait until Monday morning to post this:

River Rat: 455800, lvl7 (almost 8! ) Scored before the lvl4 bonus was invented - (stern look in Bob's direction)

I've tried repeatedly to beat McKongs lvl1 score - your boat must have had wings!

Best I could manage was 62250
