Berzerk Voice Enhanced is an impressive hack of Atari's Berzerk that adds speech from the original arcade game. Berzerk VE has&#44 by far&#44 the most speech of any Atari 2600 game&#44 with the phrases "Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!&#44 "Chicken&#44 Fight Like A Robot"&#44 and "Humanoid Must Not Escape" spoken during gameplay. Mike Mika also restored the original Arcade color scheme and reworked the artwork to more closely match the arcade original. Mike also created a high-quality label and manual for Berzerk VE&#44 which was released at the 2002 Classic Gaming Expo where it quickly sold out.

Includes cartridge and manual.

This is a fantastic hack. Just like the original arcade. I really enjoyed this version and so far it's my favorite hack to date on the 2600.

Fantastic version of one of my all time favorite games. Received my copy today & have enjoyed it immensely. Love the speech & being taunted after I get shot. Great game.

Chicken, fight like a robot! Everything you need to know about this game is in that phrase. This game is an absolute gem to play, and I would highly recommend it to anybody who has a 2600, or is interested in starting an Atari collection. The manual that it comes with is beautiful to look at however, the only downside that I would have to give it is that it doesn't tell you what program select to use in order to activate evil Otto. In fact, it doesn't tell you anything about what the game select switch does. However, it is a minor downside, therefore I will still give this 5 out of 5 stars!

This game pretty much eliminates the need to ever play the original Berzerk again. With the incredible addition of the voice snippits and some minor graphic enhancements, Berzerk VE makes the original version obsolete. The voice is impressive and well executed.

Classic fans will definitely want to add this to their collection. Casual fans can give this one a miss if they already have the original.

Lovely! I don't mind the colour changes (don't really notice them, to be honest), but the voices add great life to an already great game. Berzerk was another childhood favourite of mine, and it still plays absolutely great. Interesting side-comment: I played the original Berzerk for about an hour a few months ago, other than that I haven't touched the game in at least 15 years. I put Berzerk VE into my VCS, set it to Game 9, and promptly broke my all-time high score on the second try (upper 20ꯠs). It's amazing how your fingers remember all those moves.(unless - and maybe don't tell me if that's true - this version is easier than the original).

BerZerk VE, adds a whole lot to the already great original game.

There are three phrazes said during the game play, and for the 2600, having an ingame voice is saying something.

That's not all, the graphics have been tweeked a bit, as well.

And although, I don't think it was said anywhere, I think the AI's a little different too.

Even if you have an original copy of BerZerk, I'd highly reccomend getting this, adding the voice aone makes this a new experiance.

Chicken, fight like a robot! Those words still haunt fans of the original arcade classic, and thanks to this updated version first released at the CGExpo, that scary feeling comes home to Atari 2600! It's still more or less the same game, but anybody who hasn't played "Quadrun" will be STUNNED to hear their Atari 2600 talking back like a robot with a bad attitude! Certain visual elements of the game have also been tweaked to improve on the original, so the overall result is something that should be considered a must have even though the original version of Berzerk is as dirt-common as 2600 games come. Of course, the reason it IS so dirt-common was that it was already a good game to begin with, so how can you go wrong getting the 21st century's new and improved Berzerk: VE? You can't!
