 Version 1.50 of the Windows Atari ST emulator SainT has been released. This latest version includes several changes and improves compatibility with many games and demos: - Hardware 4bits SyncScroller emulated
- MFP read bug fixed, many new freezed demos work
- Mouse absolute command bug removed
- Bus error if Floating Point Unit write fixed

 Version 0.77 of MESS (Multi Emulator Super System) has been released. This MESS update contains Atari 7800 emulation improvements and bug fixes, courtesy of Eric Ball and Nate Woods. Atari 7800 PAL emulation now works properly, and emulation of the games Ikari Warriors, Choplifter, Tank Command, and Water Ski is improved.  Atari2600.com has announced that they are now selling CyberTech's new S-Video Card for the Atari 2600. This card will provide an Atari2600 with s-video and stereo outputs, without permanently modifying the system. The card easily installs into the TIA chip socket on the 2600 motherboard, although Atari2600.com will perform this upgrade for an additional fee for those who prefer not to do the upgrade themselves.  Matt Reichert of the informative website AtariProtos.com has recently spoken with Atari alumni Howard Scott Warshaw, who shed new light on the unreleased Mind Maze game for the Atari 2600. Apparently Mind Maze was based on the unproven theory of ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) and was an attempt to create a mind reading game for the (also unreleased) Mindlink controller.  It looks like the hassles of Jaguar CD encryption may finally be over! Curt Vendel of the Atari History Museum has uncovered what appears to be the software Atari used to encrypt Jaguar CD software. This discovery should allow creation of new Jaguar CD-based software that will no longer require the use of a hardware bypass mechanism to get around the Jaguar's built-in authentication routines.  Thanks to the efforts of Clint Thompson and Glenn Bruner, we are now able to make available a collection of Atari Jaguar demos for downloading. These include the Lady Bug demo, Football Field demo, Arena League Football Field demo, Virtual QSound demo, and more. All the files were submitted to us by Clint Thompson, with special thanks to Glenn Bruner for converting most of them to .ROM format so they can be used with Jaguar Flash Carts.  An alpha version of the CaSTaway Atari ST emulator has been released for the Palm PDA platform. CaSTaway/Palm is a port of the CaSTaway/GP32, which in turn was derived from CastCE. Now Atari ST fans have yet another way to play the many great Atari ST games on the go! You can learn more about CaSTaway/Palm and download it here.  Version 1.6 of the Atari800MacX Atari 8-bit emulator has been released. Atari800MacX is a native Mac OS X Cocoa port of the Atari 800 emulator. The major change in this version was bringing the Atari800MacX source base up to the current release of the base Atari800 emulator. This resulted in several new features and several bug fixes over the previous release.  A new Atari 7800 emulator titled EMU7800 is now under development by Atari enthusiast Mike Murphy. This work-in-progress requires Microsoft's .NET framework and presently doesn't run 7800 games although most 2600 games play with sound. Most notable in this release is that Andrew Towers' TIA HW Notes paper was used to emulate HMOVEs more closely, allowing infamous Cosmic Ark stars to appear without special hacks.  Mike Stulir sends us word that the latest episode of Back In Time has now been put online for your listening pleasure. This episode features Mike Stulir interviewing Cindy Morgan, one of the stars of Caddyshack and the videogame cult-classic motion picture TRON.  Version 0.45 of the Atari ST emulator Hatari is now available for download. Hatari is an Atari ST emulator that runs under Linux, FreeBSD, BeOS, and OS X. This latest version is a minor release on the road to version 0.50, but includes several changes such as a new build system, fix of a disk image destroying bug in the MSA compression, printer output can be redirected to a file, experimental MIDI output support, and more (all the changes are detailedhere). Splatform is a simple but addictive platform jumping game with an infinite number of levels of increasing difficulty.  Classic gamers in the Boston area will want to check out this Sunday's gathering of the New England Classic Gamers, hosted by Christian Scott. In addition to the usual playing and trading of games, attendees will also be able to participate in a Warlords tournament, try their hand at Kirk Israel's new JoustPong homebrew game (winner takes the prototype cartridge home!), meet former Parker Brothers programmer Larry Gelberg (Ewok Adventure, 5200 Frogger II), and of course, imbibe large quantities of Sam Adams Octoberfest beer.  Version 0.82 of the Project Tempest Atari Jaguar emulator has been released. Changes in this latest version include: - Joystick support

 Thanks go out to Marvin Lambright of the NorthWest Classic Games Enthusiasts for allowing us to share the binary image to the unreleased Starpath prototype Labyrinth. Labyrinth was listed in an early Starpath Catalog,but was eventually released as Escape From the Mindmaster. Labyrinth is an obvious work-in-progress version of Escape From the Mindmaster, but with many changes from what was finally released (different mazes, sounds, music, etc.). You can download Labyrinth here, which has been tested with the excellent z26 emulator. You can also buy a copy of Labyrinth in CD form with a in DVD-style packaging here.

 Thanks to the efforts of Curt Vendel, Mitch Orman and Eckhard Stolberg, the only known prototype of the Atari 7800 game GATO has now been made available. GATO is a submarine simulator originally released for several personal computers, such as the Apple II, Atari 8-bit, and Commodore 64. Atari had plans to port GATO to the Atari 7800 and even put together a simple demo, but it doesn't appear the game ever got beyond that stage. The demo consists of four screenshots that you can cycle through by pressing the fire button. You can download the ROM image and view screenshots here and run the demo using the MESS emulator.
