Pac Man Collection is a round-up of the various official (and some not so official) releases of one of the most popular games in history. Now we can finally fill a void that was missing from the 7800 library for two decades. Within this game cartridge you will find:
- Pac-Man (The Original!)
- Puck Man (Same game, more difficult maze)
- Hangly Man (Empty Mazes? Vertical Tunnels? Invisible Mazes?)
- Ultra Pac-Man (6 New Mazes for a new variety)
- Random Mazes* (You just never know which maze will appear next!)
- Ms. Pac-Man (The second installment of the Pac-Family)
- Ms. Pac-Attack (Same game, more challenging mazes)
- Ms. Random Mazes* (Like Random Mazes above, but with the Ms. flavor)
* - denotes games that were not released as actual arcade games, officially or otherwise
Also included is the 'Plus' and 'Fast' variations of these games, which you can individually set on or off for each game. Plus Mode has the various effects when enabled:
- Game Speed is increased
- Bonus prizes are replaced with alternate items
- Bonus prizes now have the same effect as an energizer, except the monsters turn invisible (they are worth double points this way!)
- Eating a standard energizer doesn't always turn all four monsters blue...
- Eating a standard energizer might make the maze and dots disappear for the duration of the energizer
- Maze colors are different as an indicator of 'Plus' mode
'Plus' mode is the equivalent of the arcade game Pac-Man Plus. 'Fast' Mode increases the speed of the player only when enabled. In total, you have 24 game variations to choose from!
The High Score Cartridge is able to store high scores for each variation separately.

They look great sitting on a shelf with your other boxed homebrew games, or alongside games from the classic Atari 2600 library. We only have a limited number of boxes for each game, and there is no guarantee they will become available again once our supplies are exhausted. For fans of Pac-Man this is a must have. You'll get multiple versions and bonus games you can't get anywhere else. Difficulty levels, random mazes, energizers that will give you hours of game play. Plus, the cartridge and the booklet are amazing. For a collector the 7800 Pac-man Collection is something that you have to have.

Pac-Man Collection is my TOP favorite homebrew for the 7800. I received this game program on May 20th, 2019 and I had much more fun. It's best playable with the Edladdin Super 78 controller. Bob Decrescenzo is a very brilliant programmer! THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is a great game and a must have (especially for Pac Man fans.) Different game modes and alternate modes to increase difficulty makes for hours of enjoyable game play for the entire family.
Just received Pac Man Collection in the mail today. This game is amazing. Well worth the 30 dollars! It is so gratifying playing a perfect version of Pac Man on the 7800. On top of that, all of the included options will keep you busy playing. The random mazes mode is a must play! Thanks for keeping Atari alive.
Man, what can you say? Bob hit a grand slam with this game! There are so many different games on this cart, with so many settings, I've had the thing for a week and I haven't even had a chance to try each of the games. The PacMan port and Ms. Pac Man are great, controls are smooth, and sound is pretty good, even without the pokey chip. Probably the best game that I have purchased from AtariAge Store! Definitely a must have for anyone who enjoys pacman or ms. pacman!

Pacmanplus is a great homebrew author and this is his first 7800 game.
Pac-Man Collection is a game that should've been a pack-in game for the system back in 1986. Pac-Man collection has a lot of options.
This is a must for Pac-Man fans.
VectorGamer on 08/17/2017 10:56am
A ton of options available make this a must have for Pac-Man fans.
Funkmaster V on 07/17/2017 07:43pm
By far, this sexy, very customizable Pac-Man game is the best maze game for the system. Also. it's sexy. and its possible you will never play the same game twice on full blown random mode. It's also sexy

An astonishing recreation of the original. If you have a 7800 in good use this game is a must have.

There is a reason this is the most popular 7800 homebrew on the Atari Age Store. Multiple versions of Pac-Man all on one cart. There's really no reason to pass this up. This is one of the essential games in a 7800 library. It's truly fantastic in every way and you can customize the settings in various ways, ensuring you always have a challenge.
This was my first homebrew purchase, and it's what made me want to buy more from Atari Age. Don't leave this game out of your collection.

I received this game as part of the 7800 30th anniversary Bob DeCrescenzo 8-in-1 multicart so I will be reviewing this version. I can say I'm highly impressed and it's easily my favorite game of the lot, so much so that I'm tempted to buy a standalone copy. After being somewhat underwhelmed by the official Ms Pacman 7800 port (especially compared to the Ms Pacman port Atari's own Tengen released on the NES), Pacman Collection stuffs so much content into one 32K-byte game cartridge it's mind blowing.
First off we have arcade perfect renditions of Pacman and Ms Pacman, in addition to every hack and bootleg that was so popular back in the day. For both Pacman and Ms Pacman modes, there are a variety of maze variations to choose from, in addition to "Plus" mode which among other things changes the default behavior of the power pellets/ghosts as well as changes the powerups, for instance the cherries and strawberries into sodas and daiquiris. Also the ghosts wear little leaves on their heads so you know something's up.
The real gem of this game, however, is the ability to select random mazes from any one of the 21 available in the game, including a handful that aren't even available in the other modes. Among them are a standard issue pac maze with no interior walls, and even a maze with dead ends in the corners that allows the ghosts to warp but not you! There's also a stage with Robert DeCrescenzo's name "BoB" written in the walls...
There is so many options to choose from it's hard to get bored with this game. The audio and cutscenes are all intact, rendered using classic TIA sound effects. whether you want to play the strait up arcade game like you remembered it fondly back in the day, or mix it up and go nuts with random Ms Pacman mazes and "Plus" mode activated, it's like they say at BK, "Have it your way!"
Wholeheartedly recommended, if you only buy one homebrew buy this. 5 out of 5 joysticks!
PS - if you enjoyed this game be sure check out Bob's totally awesome Jr Pacman port for even more hardcore pellet chomping action... :)

This is must have game for pacman fans. The gameplay is great as is the graphics. The game variations are just awesome.Every 7800 owner would be proud to have this game in their collection.

Every time I wanted to play Pac-man as a kid I was sadly disappointed when I would pop in the 2600 cartridge. It just never was what Pac-man should have been. After I received this though I am very please. It's as if the wrongs I felt as a child have finally been resolved, answered for and all of my expectations are blown away. The customization is way over the top which makes it so you can always have some different kind of experience each time you play. I feel that the core game play for the original versions (Pac-man and Ms. Pac-man alike) is the closest you can get to the arcade. I even feel that this version is better than the offering we got with Ms. Pac-man's release for the 7800. The only gripe I have is that there isn't any Pokey chip which makes the sound a little harsh at times but aside from that. Awesome port.
davyK on 12/12/2010 01:53pm
PAL version.
This is a wonderful job. All of the different modes mean that there is geat variety and it keeps you playing. There is no such thing as one game of this as its too tempting to switch to a different set of mazes or switch on the "plus" mode. Highly recommended. The colour of one of the ghosts in PAL land is a bit on the dim side and you have to look hard to see it but it doesn't affect gameplay. Presentation is polished and I recommend this game highly.
Turbo Genesis 64 on 06/13/2010 09:42am
Wow! This is awesome.
I got this for Christmas and this was my favorite 7800 game I got. There is so much GAME in this game! You get tons of variations, mazes and my favorite feature ... fast mode! The Pac-Mans feel fresh and new again and it's so cool to be able to always out run the ghosts if you want to. I actually prefer this over the Xbox 360's "Pac-Man Championship Edition" and that's no small feat.
Imagine in 1986, if they "would have" packed the Atari 7800 will "Pac-Man Collection" and a better controller I think more Americans would have welcomed the mighty Atari back into their homes. Who knows maybe the outcome of the 8 bit war would have been different.

My, 5 joysticks all the way through, and worth many more. Anybody who frowns on the price of this is a tool and shouldn't be visiting a magnificent site as this. $30 is fully reasonable considering the effort and cost of making small batches of such professional grade carts, complete with full colour professional labels AND full colour professional grade manuals. Now, calling these 'arcade perfect' is slightly inaccurate. What they are is the full representation of the best possible 4:3 port of Pac and Ms Pac on the 7800. Which makes them even MORE perfect because squashing everything into a cocktail aspect would have trashed these magnificent ports. THESE are what Atari SHOULD have made for the 7800 and fill a huge gap in the 7800 library. Granted, the original 7800 of Ms Pac was VERY good, but instead of just including that, Bob went and tweaked the colours and other things to make it much closer to the arcade game we all know and love, as well as adding Pacman, which was never released for the 7800. AND he added the 'plus' modes for a complete and perfect set that was sorely missing in the 7800 library. Let me restate, everything you get is professional grade above and beyond anything Atari ever did for the poor 7800. And if anybody is wondering why jr pac isn't on here, it's available as a seperate cart simply because that game is too large to fit into a 7800 cart with all of the goodness you get in this one. I ordered both and everybody else who owns a working 7800 should too.
Ron Lloyd on 05/02/2010 06:39pm
What a treat this game is. I have played more than enough Pac-man and Ms Pac-man over the years, but the generous variations of gameplay found in Pac-Man Collection really make it a fresh and fun experience. You have to try random mazes along with Plus Mode activated! Kudos to Bob for this superb effort!
Jeremiah Carlson on 04/18/2010 12:21pm
This is currently the best 7800 game I own. Even though I (as of this review) only have three other games: Desert Falcon, Pole Position and Xevious. But still this is a well made product. The game has many many game selection and customization options which they are easy to set up and change. Clicking the reset button will restart your game with the game settings so you won't have to keep changing the options whenever you have had a bad run. Clicking the select button will put you back at the customization screen which is very helpful and convenient.
So what can you customize? First you can choose your game ( Pacman, Puckman, Ms. Pacman ect.) then you ad plus mode which increases difficulty and the game its self slightly. On top of that you may change the speed, the amount of lives you have and even the levels it's self. (The more points the fruit is the harder the level) Then as a final touch each game selection is two player! If you own a 7800 and even if your not that big of a pan of pac-man. You still have to get the game its just that good. As of this review it is the best game I have bought of this year.
MrBeefy on 11/07/2009 12:39am
This is a must have for the 7800, especially if you love Pac-Man. All the variations are great and I love being able to set Pac-Man to go faster when I push the button.
Can't find anything to complain about it, great game!
Douglas Carroll on 05/19/2009 01:02pm
WOW, what a great game and what a great value! As usual, Pacmanplus has blessed our humble 7800 with an awesome cartridge that really adds a ton of Arcade gameplay to the system. If you even remotely like the Pac-Man game, then you must get this. Within this cartridge is variations of Pac-Man, Mrs. Pac-Man, and Hangly-Man. All, arcade perfect! Trust me, get this, you'll LOVE it!!!
Bruce Philip on 12/19/2008 01:04am
This is incredible. Not only a perfect Pac-Man experience, but for the first time (as far as I know), we have a "fast" version of Pac-Man on a home console. This cartridge was well worth the money, and I recommend it to ANYONE with a 7800 ProSystem. This cart is a requirement!
Scott Inman on 05/20/2008 09:59am
This release has the largest variety of game options of any Atari cart I have ever seen. Not only do you get the traditional Pac-Man and Ms.Pac-Man, but also the very popular "speed up" mode and alternate versions of these games that weren't accessible to all of us back in the glory days of arcade gaming. If you own a 7800 you MUST buy this title - you won't be disappointed!
William Boblitt on 12/14/2007 10:47pm
This is the best Atari cartridge to come out since...hmmm...maybe this is the best cartridge ever! The gameplay is dead on, the graphics are excellent, and every quirky Pac-Man machine I ever remember playing in the arcade is represented here! Pac-Man Plus was always my favorite and it is simply awe inspiring to see it on a classic home system - at last!
Nathan Strum on 07/15/2007 01:34am
In case you're one of the two or three people left on Earth who've never played Pac-Man, you maneuver the title character around a maze, eating dots, fruit and other bonus items, while avoiding four monsters (or ghosts) who are lethal to the touch. But you can strike back, because in each corner of the maze are flashing "energizers" which, when eaten, make the monsters vulnerable to your attack. Clear the maze of all the dots, and you'll move onto the next level with faster monsters, and bigger bonus points.
Pac-Man spawned a host of sequels and knock-offs, with pretty-much the same basic gameplay, but featuring different mazes and greater difficulty. Pac-Man Collection is a compilation of many of these, bringing Pac-Man, Pac-Man Plus, Ms. Pac-Man and others together all in one cart.
Although Ms. Pac-Man already exists for the 7800, this collection has been tweaked to improve the graphics, and add far more options than the original release. In addition to letting you play Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man, there are additional mazes, game modes, selectable lives and levels, and a "random maze" feature that will challenge even the most seasoned Pac-Man veteran. The games are very faithful to the arcade originals (with the exception of a few sounds), and are as close as you'll get to them on an Atari console. With excellent graphics, an easy-to-use options menu, and responsive controls, this is a first-rate collection all-around.
Pac-Man Collection is an idea that makes you wonder, "Why didn't Atari do this themselves?" Well, I can't answer that, but I can say this much: If you own a 7800, you owe it to yourself to buy Pac-Man Collection.
Joseph Till on 03/04/2007 09:39pm
WOW! I have an original Pac-Man coinop in my gameroom, with a kit installed that gives me Pac, Ms. Pac, Pac Plus, etc., plus tons of hacked mazes, speed up options, etc. Well, I guess I can sell it now, because this small little cart gives me basically all the same options I have on my big Pac-Man machine, with the multikit installed! Nice job!!!
Raul Torres on 03/02/2007 02:44pm
WOW! AMAZING! I can now relive the long past days in which I use to find these games at the arcades. DA BOMB!
JASON JENKINS on 02/24/2007 03:32pm
This is the Pac-man game everyone has been waiting for on the atari. Amazing!!! This top notch game lets you choose your speed: Fast or slow. You can add plus to your game which lets you get cans of coke(etc) instead of fruits.
The Game play is perfect. I highly recommend this game to all pac-man/7800 fans. Don't look at the price and frown because its worth every penny spent. Two thumbs way up!!!
Cousin Vinnie Vineyard on 01/26/2007 12:30pm
What makes Pac-Man Collection so special is the ability to customize your game into over 100 different gameplay experiences. Sure, it features classic arcade versions of Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Puck Man, Hangly Man, and Pac Man Plus, Fast and Button mode, but the main attraction here is the new game Random Mazes (and Ms. Random Mazes). Experience one of 21 mazes in rapid fire succession... never play the same game twice!!! This game will be up there with Food Fight, Centipede, and Xevious as one of your favorite 7800 arcade ports guaranteed!
richard smith on 01/21/2007 04:33pm
A good idea; rather than simply port over the single-maze original, or more accurately, hacking Ms Pacman and leaving one maze and no hair ribbon, they did much more. The bonus mazes, bootleg versions, and other features make this a grand representation of Pac Man for the 7800. I found it very enjoyable.
